2002 Season Wrap-Up

This season Mike Sarno's baseball squad had a tough start to the season.  The Rams came back from Florida with a 3-8 record and were struggling heading into MASCAC play.  The Rams fell to 1-7 in the conference and the road to the playoffs seemed almost impossible.  Then the Rams went on to sweep the next six MASCAC games and went into the conference tournament.  Great hitting by players like Chris Donovan, Robbie Lepardo and Joe Sousa and excellent pitching from Gregg Rockwell, Chris Hendricks, and Matt Stockbridge is really what got them into the tournament.  In the double elimination tournament they lost to Worcester State, who eventually won the tournament, and Mass. College.  The overall record for the Rams was 14-24-1.  This season Chris Donovan was the MVP of the Rams and Gregg Rockwell was the Unsung Hero for Mike Sarno.
