2004 Field Hockey Season Review

 

Led by first season head coach Bob Kelley, the Framingham State College Field Hockey team won their first MASCAC Title.  The Lady Rams finished 4-1 in the MASCAC and shared the title with Westfield State.  Overall the Lady Rams finished the season 10-7, were fourth in the Little East Conference (LEC) and advanced to the second round of the LEC tournament.  The Rams were led by junior Jenn Johnson (Uxbridge, MA) who was selected LEC Offensive Player of the Year and MASCAC Co-Player of the Year as well as being first team all conference for both.  On the season she scored 18 goals and 3 assists for 39 points to set the Framingham State College single season scoring record and she now holds the Framingham State College career scoring record with 52 points surpassing the old mark of 49.  Defensively the Rams were led by senior Amanda Seely (Wakefield, MA), who was selected first team All-MASCAC, and has been the back bone of the Rams defense for four years.  Juniors Mary Lemelin (Colrain, MA) and Laura Hamburg (Uxbridge, MA) were also selected Second Team All-MASCAC in 2004.
