2002 Field Hockey Wrap-up

2002 was a big improvement for the Rams this year finishing with a 5-13 overall record.  The Rams finished second in the MASCAC with a 3-2 record and just barely missed the playoffs in the Little East Conference Tournament.  A special recognition goes to Stephanie Bunker, who was named MASCAC Coach of the year for 2002.  Once again the Rams were led by Jody Lussier of Northbridge on the field who scored six goals and picked up two assists on the year for 14 total points and was named to the All-MASCAC first team.  Defensively, the Rams looked towards senior goalie Megan Johnson of South Dennis to protect the net.  This past season Megan had a 5-12 record, had a goals against average of 1.98, and made 130 saves.  Becky Martin of Fairhaven and Julie Mei of Natick also contributed to the Rams season and were both voted on to the All-MASCAC second team.
With most of the team returning to the field next season, Coach Bunker is looking to once again improve on this past year's successes.
