FSU’s Fashion Design and Retailing Program Ranked Among Top 20 on East Coast

Aug 31, 2015

A Web site dedicated to helping students interested in fashion find the right school recently ranked Framingham State’s program among the Top 20 on the East Coast.

Fashion-School.org ranked Framingham State’s Fashion Design and Retailing program 17th overall for schools located on the East Coast. The site highlighted the program’s international study tours to places like Milan, Florence and Rome; the annual student Fashion Show; the University’s Costume and Textiles Resource Center; and internship opportunities that exist nearby at places like Bloomingdale’s, GAP, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, Ralph Lauren, Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue.

“This ranking is the result of the work of a team of faculty, students, and staff in the Department of Fashion Design and Retailing, the School of Arts and Humanities, and the University as a whole,” says Rebecca Taylor, chair of the Fashion Design and Retailing Department. “Without the dedication of all of these people we would not have the high quality fashion program that exists at Framingham State University.”

The ranking criteria the site relies on to come up with its list include academic reputation, admission selectivity, depth and breadth of the program and faculty, value as related to tuition and indebtedness and geographic location.
