Weekly Testing Update – February 25, 2021

Dear FSU Community,

The University administered 767 COVID19 tests on Monday and Tuesday this week, resulting in two positive results. Contact tracing of close contacts began immediately. All of our latest data is now viewable on our COVID19 Dashboard.

As the state continues its vaccination rollout, various groups on campus will become eligible at different times, depending on their jobs. We will be notifying these groups directly as their eligibility approaches.

Of course, many on campus are eligible for the vaccine now, regardless of their job. If you are over the age of 65, or have 2 or more certain medical conditions (Click here to view the specific list) , you are currently eligible to be vaccinated. While vaccinations are not mandatory, we strongly urge all who are eligible to get them as soon as possible, as they are safe, effective, free, and critical to bringing the pandemic to an end. While supply has been tight, it is expected to expand in the coming weeks, with access for those in the MetroWest area improving thanks to a new mass vaccination site that opened at the Natick Mall this week.

Please note that the vaccination schedule has no impact on our testing protocols and requirements.

As always, keep wearing your masks, practicing good hygiene and social distancing, and avoiding large gatherings. Monitor your health daily, and if you are showing any symptoms, no matter how mild, you should contact the Health Center.

Stay safe,

Javier
