My Story: Framingham State is the community I always missed out on. As a traumatic brain injury survivor, I missed most of high school. After getting my GED, I craved an environment where I could connect with my peers and professors. Since transferring to FSU last spring semester, I have made lots of friends, joined clubs, enjoyed campus events, and earned a NASA internship at the Christa McAuliffe Center.

My time at Framingham State University has been all that I hoped for and so much more. FSU has become a second home to me, where I always feel welcomed and encouraged. There are so many wonderful professors, staff, and students ready to help each other and make campus a better place. In just this one semester alone, I have already grown so much as a student and as a person. I look forward to what the rest of my education at Framingham State University holds.

My NASA Internship: My NASA-Funded internship provided me with the opportunity to inspire a future generation of scientists by leading a two-week STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education program for students in Framingham Public Schools. My fellow interns and I developed a hands-on curriculum and worked directly with the students on STEM activities, including taking them through the McAuliffe Center’s Earth Odyssey Missions in the Challenger Learning Center. It was a great experience helping the students develop teamwork and communications skills and sharing with them my passion for science.
