Understanding Course Listings

  1. Course subject: Each course now has a 4 letter prefix which indicates the subject matter, which is often is the same as the department, major or concentration. This prefix replaces the two digit department course code.

    Example: The new code for Psychology is PSYC. The previous code was 42.

  2. Course number: Course numbers have remained the same. The three digit number that follows indicates the level of the course: first year, second and so on. 100, 200), 300 and 400 level courses are undergraduate level. 800 and 900 level courses are graduate level.

  3. Course Reference Number or CRN: Each course now has a 5 digit number that identifies the class for registration. You will need the CRN in order to register. CRNs beginning with 90 = Fall, 10 = Intersession; 20 = Spring, and 50 = Summer.

Tips for Registering on the Web

NOTE: We regret that web registration is not available at this time to students with tuition waivers, course vouchers, third party payment or financial aid. You must register in person.

  1. Internet Explorer is the recommended Internet browser.

  2. New students: You will be asked to provide some brief information about yourself before registering. Please click here.

  3. Returning students: Log in to my.Framingham.edu. If you need help logging in to myFramingham please contact the Student Help Center, 508-215-5950 or shd@student.framingham.edu.

    • In myFramingham, click the Academic Information tab.
    • Choose Registration Information.
    • Select Course Search and Registration to search and register for summer courses Select the Term (e.g. Spring 2009) from the drop down menu and click Submit.
    • You must select at least one subject in your search. In order to identify time conflicts, select all the subjects of interest to you.
    • Carefully review the courses you have selected before clicking Register.
    • Courses must be paid in full with a credit card or your registration will be voided.
