Dr. Sandra Rahman and Laura Reed '12, a business major, are presenting a paper at the Woman as Global Leaders Conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE March 13-15, 2012. The conference is hosted by Zayed University and draws women from around the world.
Dr. Michael Enz presented a paper with a former student (from Framingham State), Jonathan Murphy, titled "Major League Baseball Free Agent Market: Asymmetric Information and the Market for Lemons" at the 19th Annual American Society of Business and Behavioral Sciences Conference in Las Vegas, NV February 23 - 25.
The Brazilian Business Club has organized under the leadership of Germano Lima '12, a business major, president. Other members are Vivicius de Souza, Vice President, Sandro Henrique, Treasurer, and Rodrigo Scaldaferri, Marketing Leader.
The Marketing Club President, Sara White '13, business major, is leading a campus wide survey to determine which trip the club will organize for Spring Break 2013. The choices are (1) Greece, (2) Italy and Spain, (3) Germany and Switzerland or (4) Costa Rica. Where do you want to go?
Allison Abbruzzese, Kevin Aguirre, Daron Carlson, Patrick Dawes, Matthew Denice, Scott Martino, Shawn Miller, Zach Preman and Tammie Teabo presented their research on business organizations' use of social media to communicate sustainability at the UMass Undergraduate Research Conference in April 2011.
Professors Sandra Rahman, Mary Rogers and Beverly Soriano arranged and conducted a course Doing Business in China which culminated in a visit to three cities in China in January 2011. Seven participants in the course were later interviewed about the experience on local television.
Framingham State University and Suffolk University sponsored the Knowledge Globalization conference in November 2010 at Suffolk University Law School. Department chair Dr. Sandra Rahman was one of the coordinators of the well attended event. Professor Karen Druffel, Dr. Michael Harrison and Dr. Zhe Li were among the many presenters.
