Hilltop Players' Responsibility
Paints, Solvents, Thinners
All chemical purchases must be approved through Maureen Bagge Fowler, Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator at Framingham State University, 508-626-4633. Contact her to let Facilities know what products should be purchased. If approved, please obtain a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) on the product and give it to Maureen. A sheet is needed for every chemical purchased.
It is advisable to purchase only latex paints. Non-latex paint (oil-based) must be disposed of as hazardous waste, and is very costly. When you have completed your construction, and want to dispose of product, let Maureen know. It will be arranged when it is convenient. Any solvents or thinners (i.e. mineral spirits) are considered hazardous waste when ready to be disposed of. Do not buy more than is necessary for one year.
Bathrooms
The only paint brushes and roller products to be washed in the sinks in the bathroom are those used with latex paint.
If you purchase non-latex paints, you cannot wash those products in the sink. You will have to use disposable brushes. Also, any paint solvents or thinners cannot be washed in the sink. These must be disposed of as hazardous waste.
It is your responsibility to maintain these restrooms. If you make a mess while cleaning up, your group must clean the restrooms.
Trash
Trash pickup is Monday and Thursday, before 8:00 a.m. The location is outside the new athletic facility by the loading dock. Trash cannot be placed there until the day of pickup. All trash must fit into black trash bags. You cannot dispose of large set pieces this way. If you have large pieces to dispose of, you must make arrangements with Maureen to get a dumpster.
Stairwells
Stairwells cannot be blocked at any time - not with construction, not with tables, not with doorstops. All doors must remain closed. All staircases must remain free of any obstacles.
