Dr. Halfond teaches ancient and medieval European history. His research looks at law and religion in the Later Roman Empire and Early Medieval Europe. His publications include The Archaeology of Frankish Church Councils, AD 511-768 (Leiden: Brill, 2010), and numerous articles and reviews in scholarly journals. He has presented his research at various conferences, including the International Congress on Medieval Studies, the Medieval Academy of America Annual Meeting, and the American Historical Association Annual Meeting.
