Dr. Bihler teaches modern European history and secondary history education. She currently supervises FSU’s history education student teachers. Her research looks at Jewish refugees from Nazi Germany. Publications include the forthcoming book Cities of Refuge: German Jews in London and New York, 1935-1945, reviews in scholarly journals, and a book chapter. She has received research fellowships from the British Council, the DAAD, and the Leo Baeck Institute. She is also writing an article on the use of original archival material in the high school history classroom. Prior to pursuing her doctorate in German-Jewish history, Dr. Bihler was a middle and high school social studies teacher in Connecticut.
