Movin' Crew is a volunteer opportunity available to current students.
Residence Life is seeking community members to join the FSU Movin’ Crew, the best volunteer opportunity at FSU. Each year, we have an impressive group of students who demonstrate their enthusiasm for FSU, upbeat attitudes, and incredible work ethic through this volunteer opportunity. We hope you’ll consider joining this incredible team.
Information about Movin’ Crew is below. If you feel you would enjoy being a part of the FSU Movin’ Crew, please apply by completing the online application form by July 17, 2015. Applicants will be notified of their status (selected, not selected) via email by Friday, August 7, 2015.
What Is Movin’ Crew?
Members of Movin’ Crew greet students and assist them in carrying their belongings into their residence halls between 8:00a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on move-in day. You may recall receiving assistance from the Movin’ Crew when you first came to FSU. A friendly greeting and assistance in moving is very much appreciated by our students and their families and they make sure to tell us that every year. Please note that Movin’ Crew is a volunteer opportunity. The ability to lift and do other physical work is required to serve on Movin’ Crew.
When Does Movin’ Crew Work?
This year, we will have two main move in days. Each Movin’ Crew member will be asked to work both of those days.
Saturday, August 29, 2015 for incoming freshmen
Tuesday, September 1, 2015 for returning students
If we have a large number of volunteers this year, we will consider assigning some Movin’ Crew members to North Hall Move-In Day on Monday, August 31, 2015 instead of having them work on Sept 1. If you are interested in that option, should it become available, please indicate that in the online application form.
When Does Movin’ Crew Move In?
Members of the Movin’ Crew will be authorized to return to the residence halls on Friday, August 28, 2015 between 6:00-7:30p.m., and will be required to attend a meeting that evening at 7:30p.m. in the Forum. Meals will be provided beginning on Saturday, August 30th.
