Framingham State Again Named Public College of Distinction

Framingham State Again Named Public College of Distinction

Jul 14, 2015

Framingham State has once again been recognized as a Public College of Distinction for its efforts to engage students and provide them with innovative learning opportunities in an exciting campus environment.

The four “distinctions” required for inclusion are engaged students, great teaching, a vibrant community, and successful outcomes, according to the Colleges of Distinction website.

In addition, Public Colleges of Distinction are nationally recognized by education professionals as excellent schools; strongly focused on teaching undergraduates; home to a wide variety of innovative learning experiences; active campuses with many opportunities for personal development; and highly valued by graduate schools and employers for outstanding preparation.

The Public Colleges of Distinction website was developed by a group of high school guidance and college counselors in 2002 to provide students and parents with a list of schools that may not be the richest or most famous, but offer an excellent learning environment and education.
