Jul 3, 2018

Framingham State University’s Fashion Design and Retailing major with a concentration in Merchandising was recently ranked 38th nationwide, 9th in the East, and 1st in New England by fashion-schools.org.

The rankings are based on Academic reputation, admission selectivity, depth and breadth of the program and faculty, value as it relates to tuition and indebtedness, and geographic location, according to the organization’s web site.

“We are extremely proud of the strength and quality of our department, so it is always gratifying to receive this type of recognition,” says Professor Pamela Sebor-Cable, chair of the Fashion Design and Retailing Department. “It’s a credit to the outstanding group of faculty we have at the University, as well as the former faculty members who laid the groundwork for the department.”

In its ranking, Fashion Schools cited FSU’s small class sizes and individual attention, state-of-the-art computer technology, dynamic merchandising and design opportunities, study tours, and business and industry partnerships.

Framingham State’s Fashion Design and Retailing Programs are guided with help from an advisory board that includes executives from Reebok International, the Paper Store, Brooks Brothers, TJX Companies and more.
