FSU Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19 – April 3, 2020

Dear FSU Community,

I am writing to inform you that today, April 3, 2020, an employee has reported a positive test result for COVID-19. This employee has not been on campus for more than a week. Consistent with the requirements of the University's Public Health Emergency Plan, we are notifying our community about this information. The University is consulting with the local Department of Public Health on this case and will comply with all of the mitigating measures required or recommended by the agency as it relates to the individual, those who have had contact with the individual, and the physical work area(s) of the individual.

I know this is very unsettling news to hear. If you feel that you need to speak with someone, students may contact the Counseling Office and Employees may contact the Employee Assistance Program. The information for the Employee Assistance Program is as follows;

The health and safety of our community continues to be the highest priority of the University, particularly during this challenging time. Consistent with guidance from the CDC, employees should continue to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath). We request that employees who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, stay home from work and contact the Office of Human Resources (humanresources@framingham.edu) for confidential assistance.

Please continue to stay safe.

Sincerely,

Javier
