Spanish

Katherine Morrison

Entering my freshman year at Framingham State University as a Spanish major, I had little to no idea of the impact that my studies at this University would make on my life. In the past three and a half years, I have traveled to Peru and Spain with students and professors in the department. Most people do not consider studying language in college; however, studying language opens many doors and allows you to meet people all over the world and make amazing connections. I cannot thank the World Languages Department enough for everything they have done for me throughout my college career, especially the extremely knowledgeable and supportive professors whose enthusiasm for teaching language is the core of the department's success.

Since completing my degree at Framingham State, I have worked towards achieving my long-term goal of becoming a teacher. At first, I did not consider teaching as a future profession for myself, but after passing my required MTELs, I have recently received a job offer to teach Spanish at my former high school. With the knowledge and enthusiasm I have gained through studying in the World Languages Department at FSU, I have had many opportunities and experiences leading up to this point, and I look forward to what the future holds in my career as a Spanish teacher.
