World Languages Events 2014

After the end of the Spring 2014 semester Dr. Juliana Luna Freire of the World Languages department and 8 students from different departments at Framingham State went on a service trip to Cusco, Peru.

Dr. Freire and the students spent two weeks between the end of May and the beginning of June volunteering at an elementary school and at an all girls orphanage within Cusco teaching English.

During this two week period of time Dr. Freire and the group of students were immersed into the Peruvian culture of Cusco by living with a host family in the city. Through volunteering the FSU students got real life experience and learned first hand what it was like to work and teach in this region by working along side the teachers and learning about their language, culture and teaching styles.
