General Education Requirement

All students must satisfy a general education requirement consisting of ten (10) courses outside of the major department. The General Education Domain II-B (Natural Sciences) and laboratory requirement are satisfied through the completion of the major requirements for all majors in the Food and Nutrition Department.

General education requirements are stated in the academic catalog program descriptions based on the year in which you enrolled in your program.

Transfer students often have many of their General Education Requirements satisfied. As you complete your requirements for the Nutrition and Dietetics or Health and Wellness majors, you will have more ‘free electives’ than students who started at FSU. This is a great opportunity to select a minor in another department.
