What is FSU@MassBay?

FSU@MassBay is partnership of MassBay Community College and Framingham State University that provides affordable opportunities for students to earn their Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies or Bachelor of Science in Management. Students commit to the pathway, starting their studies in Liberal Arts (AA) or Business Administration (AS) at MassBay Community College. Eligible students will be accepted for immediate transfer to Framingham State University for the completion of their bachelor’s degrees. All FSU courses will be taught by FSU professors on MassBay’s Wellesley Hills campus and offered in the evenings through FSU’s Division of Continuing Education. The total cost would be approximately $28,000* if you complete your studies in four years.

Do I need to complete the FSU@MassBay program in four years?

No, students have the flexibility to complete the program in more than four years. However, students who do complete the program in four years will enjoy the most cost savings and will benefit from a structured curriculum that allows students to complete their bachelor’s degree program in that time frame.

What is the financial advantage of FSU@MassBay?

Students who complete their studies in four years as a full-time student could spend as little as $28,000 total for their associate’s and bachelor’s degrees. Regardless of the time that it takes for students to complete their bachelor’s degree through FSU@MassBay, all students would enjoy waived application fees and a tuition discount from Framingham State University of up to $240 per course.

What is the application and enrollment process for FSU@MassBay?

NEW STUDENT:
  1. Apply to MassBay Community College and enroll in the Liberal Arts or Business Administration programs.
  2. Complete your Intent to Enroll Form for the FSU@MassBay program, and complete the recommended academic coursework for Liberal Arts (AA) or Business Administration (AS) programs.
  3. Before the completion of your final semester at MassBay, submit a formal application for admission to Framingham State University. As a student enrolled in the FSU@MassBay program, your application fees will be waived and you will receive guaranteed acceptance to Framingham State University. (FSU reserves the right to review the admission of Mass Bay students who have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony.)
  4. Complete the recommended academic coursework for the Liberal Studies (BA) or Management (BS) programs.
  5. Earn your bachelor’s degree from Framingham State University!
CURRENT MASSBAY STUDENT:
  1. Visit our advising office to declare your intent to enroll form for the FSU@MassBay program. 
  2. Before the completion of your final semester at MassBay, submit a formal application for admission to Framingham State University. (FSU reserves the right to review the admission of Mass Bay students who have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony.) As a student enrolled in the FSU@MassBay program, your application fees will be waived and you will receive guaranteed acceptance to Framingham State University. Complete the recommended academic coursework for the Liberal Studies (BA) or Management (BS) programs.

How does this impact Financial Aid?

If you are interested in receiving financial aid, you will apply for aid each academic year at the institution in which you are enrolled. As a student seeking an associate’s degree from MassBay Community College, your Financial Aid will be awarded through the MassBay’s Financial Aid Office. Once you have been officially admitted to Framingham State University, you can apply for financial aid through the Financial Aid Office at Framingham State University. Please note that you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov each academic year to determine your eligibility.

Who is eligible for FSU@MassBay?

New and currently enrolled students in the Liberal Arts or Business Administration programs at MassBay are eligible to participate in FSU@MassBay. Students must declare their intent to take part in the FSU@MassBay program through MassBay’s Advising Office and follow the recommended academic pathway. MassBay alumni who graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts or Business Administration are eligible to enroll in the FSU@MassBay program, provided they have completed applicable courses.

What MassBay courses are applicable for transfer to FSU under this program? What FSU courses should I take to complete my bachelor’s degree?

MassBay students must graduate in Liberal Arts or Business Administration to be accepted to Framingham State University’ s bachelor’s programs in Liberal Studies or Management. MassBay and FSU have devised a structured academic curriculum path to help you plan your courses.

Where are FSU@MassBay courses taught?

All Framingham State University courses will meet on the MassBay Wellesley Hills campus. These classes are set to begin in Fall 2016 during the evening sessions.

* Costs are based on current rates and are subject to change annually. This figure is also based on graduating from both programs in four consecutive years. Students who qualify for financial aid can further reduce their costs.
