Valerie Hytholt, M.Ed.

Valerie is the Director of the Centers of Early Childhood Education on campus: the Jeanne M. Canelli Child Development Lab and Early Childhood Center. Valerie also serves as the Coordinator and Advisor for the M. Ed. Early Childhood Education program. Valerie has extensive experience working in the early childhood field developing and supporting educational opportunities for young children and for adults learning to teach and care for children and their families. Valerie earned her M.Ed. in Literacy and Language from Framingham State University as well as completing the University’s Post Baccalaureate Teacher Education Program in Early Childhood Education. She holds the Initial teaching license in Early Childhood Education (PreK-2) from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She also holds Lead Teacher and Director certifications from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of California, Davis and a California secondary teaching license in the social sciences.

Jamee Callahan, M.Ed.

Jamee Callahan is the K-8 Literacy Coordinator for the Medfield Public Schools.  She facilitates literacy-focused professional development and supports the implementation of the literacy curriculum.  She collects, manages, and analyzes all K-5 literacy data to guide curriculum decision-making.  In addition, she supervises and evaluates the K-8 reading specialists.  Jamee earned her bachelor’s  degree in Early Childhood Education and her master’s degree in Literacy and Language, both from Framingham State University.  In addition to her current position as a literacy coordinator, Jamee has experience as a preschool, kindergarten and first grade teacher and a K-3 reading specialist.

Donna Jaworek, M.Ed.

Donna is the Director of Early Intervention at Thom Child and Family Services in Worcester. She has spent many years working with young children and families in early intervention, preschool settings, child care programs and in both public and private schools. Donna has a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Framingham State University. She is teacher certified with the Department of Education and early intervention certified with the Department of Public Health. Donna also teaches Infant Massage to parents to enhance parent-infant bonding and to improve and maintain the physical well-being of babies. She has been an advocate for early childhood and family support throughout her career.
