Framingham State Football Star Joshua Onujiogu Generates Buzz Ahead of NFL Draft

Apr 14, 2022

Star defense football player Joshua Onujiogu is getting looked at by some NFL teams ahead of this year's draft following a stellar career at Framingham State University and a strong Pro Day at Holy Cross a few weeks back.

Onujiogu was a two-time MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year who registered 13.5 sacks, 68 tackles and an interception last season while leading the Rams to another appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament. He recently told the Boston Herald that he's spoken with the Seahawks, Texans and Patriots ahead of the draft and is taking guidance from family friend and former Patriots star Vince Wilfork.

It's definitely a longshot for Onujiogu to get drafted out of a Division III program, but he told the Herald that he's hoping he'll earn an invite to a camp as an undrafted free agent if he goes undrafted.

Rams football coach and athletic director Tom Kelley has called Onuijiogu one of the "finest players he has ever coached, on and off the field."
