Psychology and Philosophy

The Department offers a rich variety of courses that mirror the breadth of the discipline of psychology.

Psychologists study human behavior from a number of perspectives, including biological, developmental, sociocultural, and cognitive.  Our courses emphasize critical thinking and writing, research methods in psychology, and a deeper understanding of the self and others.  The coursework required for the major includes upper-level free electives, allowing students to pursue their individual interests in more depth.  The department provides opportunities for hands-on and real-world experiences through undergraduate research projects including an undergraduate thesis, on- or off-campus internships, and special service learning courses.
