"My travels to Dutch cities, including Amsterdam, the Hague, Rotterdam, Delft, Utrecht, Maastricht's-Hertogenbosch, Laren, Otterlo, Arnhem, and Nuenen, and nearby countries, allowed me to visit museum collections and architectural sites which inform my teaching and scholarship at Framingham State University."

"One of the most memorable and rewarding experiences during my Fulbright in China was lecturing on my research throughout the country. In addition to teaching my graduate and Ph.D. students at ZJU, my host university, I was also invited to and lectured at six other prominent universities."

"On a day off, I met up with some volunteers (the Friends of Al Walaja) and participated in an olive harvest. Those six weeks were the richest and most rewarding experience of my 25+ year teaching career."

Fulbright U.S. Scholar Grant

“One of the highlights of my grant period was being able to help students with a research project on the effects of child labor in mountain villages. The extent to which these students are motivated to help their developing country is impressive and admirable."

Fulbright Scholarship Award

Yaser Najjar was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship Award to attend the University of Bahrain in February-July 2007. He taught a senior level course in urban transportation planning, developed the curriculum for a master's degree in urban planning, and conducted research on traffic congestion and driving behavior within roundabouts in Manama.

Yaser Najjar

Dean of Graduate Studies

"I was very impressed with the knowledge that Bahraini students have about the history and geography of the US in addition to their proficiency in English. This approved how English became an international language and how a great nation like the US became global. I wish our American students appreciate the status of English and the U.S. in the world’s affairs."
