My name is Susan Zeng. I was born in Hunan, which is famous for spicy food. Even though I have lived in Guangzhou since 2010, I still favor spicy food. Therefore, I am completely a “là mèi zǐ 辣妹子”.
I have been working in Nansha College Preparatory Academy, an American international school, since 2015. The student-centered educational philosophy, teaching pedagogy and the content and language integration practices there thrilled me in being an educator in international education. From 2020, I have been offered to work as an EAL specialist for Grade 9 social studies with a push-in co-teaching model between a content teacher and a language specialist. From then, I was looking for a graduate program to make my language support skills more evidence-based. I feel grateful to meet the graduate program of TESL from FSU and I will be graduating soon in Aug. 2022. The past year 2021 was a busy but rewarding year for me as I worked at the same time for another US teaching license program. I am about to become a US licensed teacher in the state of Wisconsin in EAL.
I am excited to become a site coordinator to introduce the FSU graduate programs to more educators across China and the world who are in need like me. Welcome to join our programs.
